Commission

It seems while I was asleep in the Southern Hemisphere, President Bush has been reading signposts :)
Last night I commented here that I didn’t want a show trial but I did see the worth in Bush and Rice appearing under oath. Let’s face it Rice’s perspective on this issue can’t be that sensitive as she has been actively doing the rounds attacking Clarke’s position in the media outlets.

But, it seems that after pressure from the chairman of the commission and the signposts blog, the President has agreed to allow Rice to testify under oath. I am a little concerned that one of the conditions that the commission has to agree on is not to request any further testimony from Rice or ask for any testimony from any other whitehouse official.

It is a step in the right direction, even a big one, but it is tainted by that condition which severely restricts the commission.
