Saintgaz
It is worth checking out saint gaz, a new blog I found through Hamo. He describes his new church plant “Myriad” (great name actually, we might steal that for one of our congregations which is a short term merge of two other congregations):
So what is Myriad like?
The basic structure is that of a computer network. At the hub or centre is a leadership council that gives vision and guidance. The terminals are the myriad groups that are the primary gatherings for each member of Myriad.
What the…..?
Myriad is not for everyone. What we are offering is an alternative model of church to target people who wouldn’t normally enter church.
As part of Myriad there will be no “Sunday services”. You will meet with a group of believers and that will be church for you.
Why?
Most Australians don’t feel that church is relevant. The idea is to make church more accessible to people. To create loving, accepting groups of people that live as whole-hearted followers 24-7.
What does a Myriad group look like?
Each group is made up of a diverse group of people with the primary purpose of mission. Each Myriad group has a mission project that could be anything from your neighbourhood to a particular sub-culture. Your group can meet as many times a week as you want but you have to be doing some form of mission’s activity each week.
For example, you might meet on a Wednesday night, share a meal together, someone would bring some Biblical teaching, a time of sharing and prayer and some planning for future activities. You might then meet on a Sunday morning to go and clean some neighbour’s cars as a way of showing Christ’s love.
Sounds good and look forward to hearing how it goes.

G’day Dan
I just decided to google myself (very arrogant I know) and found your post. Thanks for the heads up and hope you enjoy the blog.
Feel free to steal the name. It’s not mine to keep.
