Some to Jesus I surrender

Inspired by someone else suggestion have written a new hymn for us to sing (apologies to J van de Venter):


Some to Jesus I surrender,

some to him I freely give.

I will sometimes love and trust him,

in his presence sometimes live.

Some to Jesus I surrender

for-now at his feet I bow;

worldly pleasures still remembered

Jesus take some of me now.

Some to Jesus I surrender

make me, saviour, somewhat yours;

let me feel the Holy Spirit

except when the Spirit asks for more.

Some to Jesus I surrender

Lord, I keep the best for me

You can have your love and power,

just let your blessings rest on me.

Some to Jesus I surrender,

now I feel the sacred flame

O the joy of false salvation

I say I love you, but nothing’s changed!
