Funny, I’d always been told theology was supposed to be the study of God. Personally I’ve tended to think of what most people call theology as bibliology, since it’s often presented as though the ’student’ never actually met their subject.

Yeah good point Toni. I think that is what Gutirrez is getting at.

I always considered that the study of Theology, was in essence Faith Seeking Understanding through the filter of life.
Or as Karl Barth said “There is no philosophy that is not to some extent also theology (for even)…apparently “godless” ideologies are theologies”.
