a dunking

Well last night, as I mentioned, we had a baptism at our Tangent congregation. We all gathered together at one of the congregation members who has a plunge pool in the back yard so we could share P’s baptism with her. She had invited family and friends to share in her special day.

Members of the congregations shared readings about water and poured some extra water in the pool with her (a symbol of the fact that we are all sharing in her journey and engaging in her confession through baptism). She made her own statement of why she had decided to be baptised and made a confession.

This was followed by a casual BBQ and welcoming her into membership of the church. It was a great time to spend together, an emphasis on calling and community and walking the path together.
