What does the average aussie think about? What is morality? What do they think about life and death?

This point of history is at a point where is more common thinking in the world.
People have become cynical about politics. Our instiutions and structures have or are collapsing.
This century doesn’t look like what people would have envisigaged early last century - they would not have dreamt that things like S11 would happen. This was the time where technological advances would create a utopia.
First world war fractured somewhat this dream. 1920’s a time of loosening of morals - drugs, sex and gambling.
Depression a time of abject poverty and hopelessness - loss of the dream - gave rise to Hitler in Germany. When the concentration camps discovered at the end of WW2 by Russian and American soldiers - it is a demonstration of the factory (the great hope of the new century) is now not producing something but killing people.
Atheism on the rise, communism eventuals fails to usher in a new world.
We also have a rise of Spiritual consumerism.
The projection of love - mystery, emotion, sensuality that has been captured by the advertising gurus is the space that religion has previously occupied.
