mDNA - a paradigm of leadership

Some more mDNA soup for you!

In Primal Dreams, Alan Hirsch suggests a paradigm of leadership. This paradigm includes the following elements; Stories and myths, symbols, power structures, organizational structures, control systems, rituals and routines. The thesis that all
missional movements have a set of characteristics in common is also compelling. The leadership elements and the characteristics
of missional movements resonate with our experience at nccc. That is not to say we structured our church around these elements or the mDNA, for we did not use that particular language in its entirety. Regardless, in our own way as we progressed, we began to experience some of the power, energy and vision of what it means to be a missional Church. We have a long way to go, and there are times when it seems too hard and we begin to stutter. Yet, now that we have tasted the missional drink, we simply cannot go back.

This leadership model is worthwhile to explore to assist in creating an environment where the missional energy of a church can be released. I will explore a couple of these leadership elements as they relate to Northern Community as space does not permit me to explore each one.
