God is changing the Church

“God is changing the church, and that, in turn, will change the world. Millions of Christians around the world are aware of an imminent reformation of global proportions. They are saying in effect: ‘Church as we know it is preventing church as God wants it.’ Amazingly, many are hearing God say the same thing to them.”

Wolfgang Simson (Houses That Change the World).

That’s great–and really reflect the way things are going right now. I’ll have to look up more Simson, for I’ve heard God say it too.

Excellent!!! I can’t wait. God is leading the parade. God moves ahead of us. As he has been for centuries, and millenia. The church is heaven’s expression on earth (Bobbie Houston, Hillsong Church). I love a church, exuberant and full of the life of Christ, filled by the Holy Spirit, heralding the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is returning for a glorious church, his bride. When the gospel hasbeen preached to every single person that God wants to reach, then the Lord Jesus Christ will return. Hallelujah!!!

Jesus wants a glorious church. Preferably wholeness in his church. In other words, church leaders equip their Christians so that their Christians can conduct their ministry in their day to day lives and in their community from Monday to Saturday. On Sunday, you learn how to be a minister. Being a minister means that you have to be whole yourself before you reach out and help other people. Otherwise, you will just project your own inadequacies onto someone who just needs love and healing. First, you have to be whole, and then you can lead another into wholeness.

Here’s something else I learnt at Hillsong Conference from Catrina H. Jesus asked me to teach you this. The Bible is a mirror. On issues of identity, we often look for mirrors in the physical world to reflect ourselves in order to see who we are. They might be physical mirrors or metaphorical mirrors, but somehow we derive identity from them. Most mirrors are distorted, so we will get a distorted image. However, the Bible (Jesus Christ is the word made flesh) is a perfect mirror. As we gaze at it, we see ourselves precisely where we are at. We see what is there that should not be there, and we see what is not there that should be there. This is how you can use the Bible to change and transform your personal lives with the help of the Holy Spirit, your helper. You need to have received the Holy Spirit from Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth that will lead you into all truth. Everybody can have a personal relationship with God. I am not the only one who can do this. At least everyone in my church can have a personal relationship with the Lord. I don’t know, maybe some churches you don’t believe this as well.

Our real/true identity is revealed in Christ, as is our purpose and destiny. Your gifts and talents will be to resource your purpose to achieve your destiny, the way God created you originally.

The mission of a Christian, in a nutshell, if I spell it out practically, is as follows:

    (1) the ministry of reconciliation, to stand in the gap between people and God, and to introduce people into a personal relationship with God. The Great Commision and the royal priesthood of Jesus Christ is summed up in this point.

    (2) the work of the good Samaritan. meeting the needs of people where they are at.

All church leaders, please equip your people so that they can do these.

    The commands of Jesus Christ:
    (a) Love God with all your mind, all your soul and all your heart.
    (b) Love your neighbour as yourself.
    These commands
These commands are rellected in these practical ways that we can help our communities.

Many churches have different theology, different doctrines, and different traditions and different music. Guys, if we can focus on these two things as the common things that ALL churches and ALL Christians do, we can use it as a focal point for unification and leave our differences aside.

Hey Phil can you give December his own board? He just seems to crap on and on and doesn’t listen to anyone else anyways. Maybe if he had someplace where he can continue to have diarea of the keyboard without the pesky nuisance of all of us less spiritual, non biblical, critical axe grinders, he could really glorify Jesus claus.

    December,
most people on this blog have been in the habit of using the comments to have conversations and not just make our own posts. Conversations work best if you leave time between your posts to listen to others.
If we only wanted to know what you think we could go and read your blog.
If you keep posting your own comments all the time and not respond to the questions people ask you about them it gives the impression that you don’t really respect the other people who are in the converstaion.
Do you know what I am talking about?
