I think this looks great and to have it on a blog will be good to get the word out, People will get an opotunitity to visit several emerging churchs that are down the road a bit and meet with their leadership and dialigue with them on the sunday. Good aplication to sitting listening to talks on the saturday,
And I thought if I commented
others might, looks bad when it says (0 comments)
now it has one,

September 28th, 2005 at 10:16 pm
Well, if Jensen’s no good, we’ll take him outside and beat the crap out of him…
September 28th, 2005 at 11:04 pm
We should do that anyway.
September 29th, 2005 at 12:12 am
See what I mean
Lets get a few comments and then people will look and post,
mind you Phil tells me only like three people read this blog anyway
hey If I put a post about homsexualility and “spong” and then make really subjective highly emotive comments, and then come back with even smarter posts back to everyone who posts after me,
will that get more people will come?
proberly not but Iam trying to get mroe posts!!!

Seriously guys, come out and participate. It will be a good weekend looking at what leadership means in the emerging church. I will be doing a session on Jesus the leader.

Rev, do you fight girls?
September 29th, 2005 at 5:06 pm
If Rev only hurts one person, I want it to be Diggger too.
And Bec, Digger is a bit of a girl anyway, so I guess the answer is yes.
(Matt runs away grinning at his witty response, but suddenly realises it’s probably not safe to show is face at the Forge intensive any longer…oh dear.)
September 30th, 2005 at 12:02 am
Digger - watch the movie “Rocky” - it’ll help give you confidence to fight….next re-read “the Little Engine that Could” children’s book - you’ll get more confidence…
then say over and over to yourself “everyday in every way - I’m getting better, and better and better.” Keep remembering Digger - if you can dream it you can achieve it. -Say it - Think it Believe it!!!!
If this doesn’t work — CHEAT!
September 30th, 2005 at 6:52 am
Digger, win if you can, lose if you must, but always, always cheat.
Bec, I usually don’t fight girls cause they are too easy

Now I know the list of people who kicked your arse is long,
But remember I did it intellectually and physically.
Got a whole blog on it too
Ikickedtherevsarse.org.au
Had to take it down coz I kept getting to many hits,
Do you remember this conversation?
Napoleon Dynamite: Stay home and eat all the freakin’ chips, Rev.
Kip: Napoleon, don’t be jealous that I’ve been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I’m training to be a cage fighter.
Napoleon Dynamite: Since when, Rev? You have the worst reflexes of all time.
Kip: Try and hit me, Napoleon.
Napoleon Dynamite: What?
Kip: I said come down here and see what happens if you try and hit me.

Seriously though - from a pacifist
What is this “Mission Training Intensive” going to be like? Who is it for? Is a previous connection with Forge events a must (particularly in light of the in jokes above)? Do you have to be ‘in’ an emerging church environment to attend?
I’m interested, but not sure…can some one give me some clues (I seem to have to ask that question a lot in life…hmmmm)
Ever noticed how the word “pacifist” contains the word “fist”?
October 1st, 2005 at 3:43 pm
Hi Saemon,
All the forge interns attend but you don’t need to be a forge intern to attend and in fact there will be heaps of other people.
There is no requirement for you to have been at other forge events. The intensives are kinda designed to go in the order of Feb, July, Dec but I did it starting with Dec and I didn’t notice it to be a problem. They all basically stand on their own.
You don’ need to be ‘in’ an emerging church environment to attend and in fact there will be others in this category too I am sure.
Hope that helps.

The weekend is open to all and geared to be accesible to anyone.
The interns have another two days of more intense and focussed discussion, but those are not open to anyone but interns and former interns. And Phil, cause its his building

Be there Saemon! It’s good stuff with great people.
And if it helps, we can beat you up too.
October 2nd, 2005 at 12:45 am
I will be there with my tshirt and photos of the rev crying from my beatings!!
I kinda have to be there,
but I still think its worth going,to hang with real honest missionary leaders who are sometimes: inspiring, broken, real, risktaking and unapologetic
unsung heros, from across several denominiations, varying size churches and theological backgrounds
I can honestly say these forge events are unique,
There is lots Forge doesnt do well, (Admin, etc..long list…i wont bore you)
but this
it does well coz it is not them, Rather it is the bringing together a small taste of the kingdom,
i love it and am honored to serve in faciliatating it in some small way,
evan if it is beating on the rev,
coz he too is one of my heros,
you have to hang out with some of these people,
ask the guys, digger, matt, phil
it is inspiring and challengeing
would you agree guys?
October 2nd, 2005 at 8:54 am
Yes I definitely agree. There is no better nor easier way to connect with some of what is happening in the emerging church in Victoria. You also get some good input from other states as well.
I would recommend you give it a go - Saemon and don’t worry too much about the Rev/Digger and all this testosterone charged talk - they are big cuddly pussy cats at heart!
Send me an instant messenger next time you see me online and we can chat about it. From one CCTC graduate to another
