Easy v Hard
Another christian glurge from my inbox
[text in bold mine]
Why is it so hard to tell the truth but Yet so easy to tell a lie?
If you think this is so, you should consider whether you have a predisposition to dishonesty.
Why are we so sleepy in church but Right when the sermon is over we suddenly wake up?
Because the ultimate shibboleth of faith is staying awake for a boring sermon.
Why is it so hard to talk about God but yet so easy to talk about nasty stuff?
So easy to talk about that you can’t be more explicit than “nasty stuff”?
Why is it so boring to look at a Christian magazine, but yet so easy to look at a nasty one?
Do not pollute us with the nasty magazines of the world
Why is it so easy to delete a Godly e-mail, but yet we forward all of the nasty ones?
Again with the nasty - apparently the opposite of godly
Why are the churches getting smaller but yet the bars and dance clubs are getting larger?
Because bars and dance clubs are evil! E-VILL!!
Do you give up? Think about it . Are you going to forward this, or delete it?
Why are some Christians amazed that people do not connect with the church?
Just remember-God is watching you. Prayer Wheel — Let’s see the devil stop this one!
What did you have to go and do that for? You provoked the devil. He’s going to be mad!
Here’s what the wheel is all about. When you receive this, say a prayer for the person that sent it to you….
That’s all you have to do….
There is nothing attached….
This is so powerful….
Do not stop the wheel, please….
Of all the free gifts we may receive, Prayer is the very best one….
But it is only the best of the free gifts. If you have money, send me an iPod instead of the prayer thing
There are no costs, but wonderful rewards… GOD BLESS!
More to come… the imagination and guilt machine seems to be indefatigable.

Hi Dan, I actually had to read this a couple of times before it registered that the bolded stuff was yours (I’m still laughing at some of your comments!)
Is it fair to say you’re a little cynical about these kind of chain letters

Seriously, they suck.
The preachy holier than thou attitude is objectionable enough. When you combine it with manipulation and really bad theology all based on the idea that forwarding a judgmental email sometimes makes you more christian then it is especially hard to deal with.
