Howard contradicts Bush and himself

“Don’t take any notice of them, be sensible, enjoy the sun, it’s Christmas and have a good time and, for heaven’s sake, remember you don’t achieve any advances in this world through the use of violence, thank you,” Mr Howard said

You know I kinda remember when we invaded Iraq, Howard sayingthe exact opposite. But, I guess his argument is that violence is ok for those “other” people just not Australians.

    Quite similar to the post below, facts are used interchangeably to suit the circumstances.

    Another thing about the IRAQ invasion I read recently from Arundhati Roy:

    Isn’t it funny how those who dismiss peaceful solutions as a utopian ideal then use the most utopian of justifications for their use of violence:

    We declared war on IRAQ to:

    “usher in democracy”
    “liberate the people of Iraq from oppression”
    “end the daily injustice of the IRAQI people”

    Can you do that through shooting people? If so, then who do I shoot?
