    This is fascinating.

I had no idea there were thinking Christians in my old stomping ground…Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula.

My memories of church in Geelong are of decaying staid traditional churches…and since I left….I’ve noticed that a few wanky churches have started springing up..like Kardinia Christian church…and the mad penty one that took over the bowling lanes in Gheringhap St.

Geelong also has the most God-awful-needs-a-size-13-boot-delivered-firmly-up-its-clacker Christian radio station…Rhema FM

I hadn’t heard of Sight Magazine before..and it intrigues me that it should come out of Ocean Grove …across the bridge from where I grew up in Barwon Heads…perving on surfie boys…(who would now be ugly old men driving their Corona to work at the Steggles chook factory in Breakwater).

That it’s a bunch of Bappo’s trying to be hip, cool and relevant always concern me…. (it always look about as hip as Mrs. Oldfogey from Newcomb going down to Bay City Plaza to get her shopping before slipping into the Addy building on Ryrie St to lodge her death notice for her bingo club friend in Whittington - for another non-hip example of Baptist thinking meeting the media…it’s http://www.theadvocate.tv ) so Sight Magazine would for me qualify as a modern miracle.

Especially in a town where Sam Newman gets his best material for Street Talk…just by walking down Moorabool St. with a microphone.

(Editor) David Adams should be beatified.

It sounded more like an advertorial for NCCC than an interview with any substance. A bit like those restaurant or car “reviews” in suburban newspapers that try to pass themselves off as real news.
