soup kitchen name
Earlier this year we started a soup kitchen at Northern. It is coordinated by Tim Jeffries and is staffed mainly by work for the dole participants. The focus of the work for the dole program is hospitality and so each wednesday they prepare yummy soup and bread or scones.
So far we have just been calling it the soup kitchen. Which is a pretty bland name and so in line with our obsession for cool names we are seeking the help of signposters.
What would be a good name for a church-run, free community soup meal?

Timchen?

No.
That would be silly.
‘Timchen’ indeed…
Now, ‘Kim’s Titchen’ would work…

Tim may not stay the coordinator next year so we would be looking for a name indpendent of Tim

“Kitchen formerly of Tim”?

You could call it something religious like ‘manna’ or ’soup for the soul’;
Go for pop culture references and call it ‘the naked chef’ (you’d have to get Tim’s consent for that one, I guess).
Maybe cool initials ’s.k.’
Or very grand like ‘Feast’ or ‘Banquet’.
Be minimalist and call it ‘free lunch’, ‘plate’ or ‘meal’.
Alliteration: the ’soup spoon’ or ‘northern nourishment’.
Or stick with the Tangent / Nexus theme and call it ‘intersection’.
Yes, I’m bored and should probably get back to work.

I like the minimalist approach…. simply ‘plate’.
The only other option I could think of was probably unsuitable…. “Bludger’s Chowder”.

Oh, I got it….governement money, church-run program, obsession with cool names, watery substance, nothing solid……..
