rabbis arguing
Today at my kaleo group I was talking about the signposts commenters - were your ears burning? We were discussing our progress with our spiritual discipline of “Entering the biblical story” and I observed that my day to day engaging with the scriptures often comes through the comments threads of signposts as people use their different arguments out against each other. In fact, if I count the times that I have pulled down a bible just for the purposes of checking a bible reference or a translation, then often it is prompted by something that someone here has said.
So if this is going to be a major source of my engagement with scripture, then could you all try to be a little wiser? Thanks, much appreciated.

The Rev said:
“Hillsong sucks”
That’s not in the Scripture Rev. What does it feel like being a heretic?

I can’t believe I was thanking God this morning for the wisdom and focus that was revealed by people on this site. Good thing I didn’t say that one out loud - I would have been shown up in front of my fellow kaleo order people.

This is all because no one understands what it is like to be gay and living in an ex church cultlike thing that preaches tithing.
November 29th, 2006 at 1:37 pm
I have officially turned this blog into a debate on gayity>>

Seriously, the next time someone sends me one of those christian emails complaining about the mean signposts commenters, I am going to direct them to this thread.
November 29th, 2006 at 1:45 pm
as if anyone actually writes to you Dan
November 29th, 2006 at 1:58 pm
You’re too young and innocent to see the type of *christian* emails I get sometimes.
November 29th, 2006 at 2:00 pm
but Rev you’re taking II Hezekiah 4:13 out of context. You should use the whole verse:
“And it was seen that Hillsong sucks money from those who did not control their minds rigidly during a service.”
You can’t just pick random bits out like that. It’s really poor form.
November 29th, 2006 at 2:15 pm
it’s true…I am young and I am innocent - but revs not - he’s as guilty and as old as sin!
Emblazoned if your going to proof text at least use a translation that follows the original Hittite, as per;
“And it was seen that Hillsong suck[ed] shit and money from those who did not control their minds or hold rigidly their sphinctres during a service.”

What does the Mathew Henry Commentary say about II Hezekiah 4:13?
November 29th, 2006 at 2:36 pm
It says that americans don’t know didley squat about how to do theophomology or tramampolining for that matter
November 29th, 2006 at 2:45 pm

November 29th, 2006 at 3:08 pm
So, when all else fails, blame the Americans heh??? How predictable!
November 29th, 2006 at 3:15 pm
oooohhh how predictable - I knew you were going to say that

Who needs your help, I found this from Mathew Henry…
v.10, Probably he had been accustomed to take some private obscure lodgings in the town; but this pious matron, having notice once of his being there, pressed him with great importunity, and, with much difficulty, constrained him to dine with her, v. 11. He was modest and loth to be troublesome, humble and affected not to associate with those of the first rank; so that it was not without some difficulty that he was first drawn into an acquaintance there; but afterwards, whenever he went that way in his circuit, he constantly called there. v.12, So well pleased was she with her guest, and so desirous of his company, that she would not only bid him welcome to her table, but provide a lodging-room for him in her house, that he might make the longer stay, not doubting but her house would be blessed for his sake. v. 13, And all under her roof were edified by his pious instructions and example—a good design
This proves Prosperity teaching - even mathew henry could understand it!!! Rev. You might want to study up a bit on your Bible knowledge - Mathew Henry proves HS doesn’t suck.
