The Christ is coming

A lot has been going on with us - hence the absence from the blog for a little while.  In our family we have been struck down with colds, organising the normal Christmas connections with family, packing my whole worklife into boxes in preparation for renovations, Phil has been juggling Christmas/New Year while dealing with a significant shuffle of staff members.

Looming high on the horizon is our Christmas community lunch tomorrow - an open lunch for anyone who wants it.  Last year was our first and we served 65ish meals to friends and strangers.  Tomorrow we are already expecting over 90.  Somewhere around Preston ovens have been firing all day preparing meat and food for our lavish three course feast tomorrow (there are chickens in my oven right now).

We might not get a chance to post tomorrow.   So on behalf of us both, this is our chance to wish all of our regular commenters, lurkers and trolls a very merry Christmas.  May you remember and celebrate the man that the baby became, and may you solemnly recognise the challenge to follow him where his life leads - all the way to the other significant holy event in our calendar.

Stay safe during this period, and never let the stress and exasperation that is sometimes so much a part of Christmas arrangements deter you from the wonder of the coming of the Christ.

A belated merry Christmas to you too, Dan and Phil. Or Phil and Dan. Is there a politically correct order to names these days?
