the weakness of change

I love change!

I get energised by change and love it when I am thinking or planning or guiding people through change. It is one of my key strengths as a leader - but it also has a down side.. This quote that I came across reminded me of that down side.

“We trained hard, but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up in teams we would be reorganized. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing. And a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress whilst producing confusion, inefficiency and demoralization.”

–Gaius Petronius, AD 66

thanks for the quote. very timely for me. it seems that if organising was one of the primary principles of church growth, then the disciples would have had better and more specific job descriptions…

“Chaos tends to order. Order tends to Chaos.”
