I just got Dan’s SMS – so I have instructed Mrs Lionfish to cancel the email! Sincere apologies for the inconvenience. Guys,

For me on Anzac day, its a time to remember that this was the war to end all wars, and how often we have dropped the torch,and broken the faith with those who suffered and died; to remember those who did not willingly go but at the toss of the lottery their numbers came up and they were sent; to remember those who opposed wars like Vietnam and fought the government at every point and eventually won; to remember those who still go into armies and are harrassed and brutalised to the point of break down and suicide;and those who come home from war broken in spirit and body, and are still ignored, and the church is silent; to remember Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders,of Saunders and of Upright,and Hughes, who fought and died and were forgotten and denied a place in our community. And when football comentators begin to talk of Anzac day and clash between two second rate teams such as Collingwood and Essendon ,as a "day that has grown so much in popularity and spirituality"(Aust 27/4) then its time to take another look at the torch and "breaking faith".
