Commenting - a reminder
Information for new commenters, and a reminder for old commenters. We have been having a few hiccups with over-zealous spam software lately. Here is my comment from a thread:
Hey guys. Once again, in order to keep this site running we have to use fairly powerful anti-spam software, which looks for patterns which indicate spam-bottness. Going from zero posts to a post every two minutes (as raine did) is taken as spam bot behaviour and comments were spanked. Then because of the multiple posting this post was identified as spam territory and others were spanked. Still working on it in between doing actual work.
As you know, it is rare for us to delete comments. If something happens to comments, please email. Don’t continue attempting to comment or trying to communicate with us through the comments. It makes the situation worse.
Please try to be patient when you experience difficulties. I know it is tempting to try to send us messages through the comments as we do read them, but we do have real lives and jobs and stuff so we don’t see everything that happens on the site the second it happens. If you have any issues, send us an email.
