social bookmarking
I have been playing around with facebook and myspace. It came out of a realisation at jeebus that most people had a myspace account. So, not one to want to show my age and in a never ending urge to be trendy - I decided to check out what the fuss was about… ok it also might have something to do with my geeky tendencies
I have created a facebook id - search for Phil McCredden and a myspace philmccredden
If you use one of this social bookmarking things - add me and we can be friends - nice huh
I must admit I do not get the outrageous popularity of myspace - it is is clunky and is no where as slick as facebook. Maybe we should create a signposts group on facebook..
Oh well.

I hate myspace…it’s clunky, and I hate the culture of “memeME” that it promtoes…ever noticed how people’s blogs can seem really interesting and intellectual, then you check out their myspaces and they seem like self-absorbed twats?!?!
I really should check out facebook…

myspace appears to be completely at odds with how I browse the Internet. That is with music playing and opening many pages at once.

i agree with bec…people seem to think they’re more interesting than they really are…me included probably…

Hi Phil,
I have a question of the geek variety. If you create a myspace page can you then track people that visit it? I think there is something you can add (which you purchase) that tracks other myspace users that visit a page? What about the general public? I really do have my geeky moments….sigh.

The appeal of myspace is personalisation…you make it look and sound how you like….much more personal expression….
