burning ears
Hey all. Were your ears burning this weekend? Seems that I spent a big chunk of the weekend discussing/defending/analysing/apologising for signposts and the signposters that make this place fun. But I promise we will actually get around to posting some new stuff. Remember that crazy idea I had to read through a bunch of new testament books for Lent? Well I have changed it to NT for Lent(ish) and we will be finishing that off in the next little while.
Happy Mother’s Day to the mums out there. I heard a few people call for a dual celebration - Mothers’ Day and/or “Deliberately Barren” day, so if you want to have that celebration you will need some of these fine items.
Best comment from the Carlton/Collingwood game on Saturday came from our international guest from the US attending her second AFL game - “You would think that Collingwood would be able to play an opposition with some MANNERS!!” The word “undignified” was bandied about (in contrast to the Mighty Pies’ very dignfied play of course).

If they’re such concerned ‘proper’ Christians, what are they are doing sinning by reading a trashy rag like Signposts anyway?
They should be telling you about the new recipes they’ve found in Country Women’s Association Weekly.

Gee, everyone jumps to such conclusions, don’t they? Who are these “proper” Christians of whom you speak?
The conversations were - conversations at a party with missional church leaders, conversations over brunch with friends, conversations at the football with new friends, conversations with church leaders about the impact of the online environment.
And the Country Women’s Association Weekly has great recipes.

Doesn’t answer the question of why Dan’s friends read trash like Signposts.

So where the bloody hell are they?

I reckon at last we get to discuss something of worth, that young & old can participate in, and that truly makes the world go oval…

Actually, there are a hell of a lot of regular readers of signposts who never comment.
May 15th, 2007 at 9:54 am
^ ^ That’s true…I know an awful lot of people who read it…and remember the stuff I say…*ahem*…

…I also know poeple who read signposts - but don’t usually bother with reading the comments threads… Ahh they don’t know what they are missing.
May 15th, 2007 at 10:27 pm
I don’t know how you can read it and not comment…

When I operated my blog I had on avergae 40 visitors pe day )peaked at 160- once - woo hoo) hardly anyone ever posted a comment - ever - I got bored talking to myself

Our unique hits are substantially higher than the number of comments. Our registered users are also interesting as from time to time they show up regsitered users who register after being mentioned in a thread and subsequently don’t actually comment.

Like BRIAN HOUSTON?????

Yeah, sure. Because the various registered users taking the names of high profile preachers like Brian are entirely genuine, and those guys always use l33t hotmail accounts for their email. A little bit less high profile.
