And this Emma Whale person is, like, a total spunk!

I was gonna read the article, but there was this picture of a hot chick at a computer, and in my experience that usually means nakedness. So out of my personal commitment to holiness I decided I could not go any further.

Rev - how would you know that hot chick involves nakedness. Have you chased up those sort of links before? Do you dwell on the images you have seared into your memory?
Let me reassure you - the hot chick is fully clothed!!

look, it usually starts with a smiling girl at the computer, and then she starts ripping her clothes off. I may have been fooled forty or fifty times, but I won’t be fooled again.

ok let me be clear - that ain’t going to happen!
you know i’ve had 2 kids, right?? It’s in everyone’s best interest I stay clothed
rev - thanks heaps for you comments on the blog, I was a bit sad to receive some hate email that accused me of not being a Christian!
actually I thought dan could help me with ways to develop a thick skin…she gets lots of complaints about signposts.

I was going to wade in with a comment about how I knew Em when she was a young girl in a private school uniform,
but given the way this thread is progressing I’m worried that it would just reinforce the wrong idea in people’s minds.

emma,
What you need to realize is that whenever we begin to question the “system” whether it is Christian or not, we will get slammed. People in general hate change, and are scared of difference. And when you have a culture that is inherently violent, like the closed set Christian club, you will have these kinds of reactions. I will make you a deal, whenever it gets too much, let me know, and I will come over to your site and start blasting people. Then they will stop picking on you and start on me. I am used to it.
You are doing well. Hey I am having my friend Jarrod McKenna a non violence educator and peace award winner doing some stuff with us next month. One of the things he is going to do is a multi media presentation on the history of punk rock, from radical revolutionaries to pop culture sell outs, and then compares it with the history of the Christian church. Maybe you could cover that for your website.

that sounds great! let me know how i can get the info?? And thanks for your offer to blast my critics - I’m guessing I’ll take you up on it!!
and ADHD - do you remember the st paul’s uniform??? I’m sorry but we all looked terrible in it…I’m sure it was part of the school plan for girls and boys to maintain the “six-inch rule” to make us girls look as frumpy as possible
we used to have to kneel on the ground to make sure our skirts were knee length
…oh the good old days…

Well I am going to complain about your site. I took the test to see if I am a lefty or righty, anarchist or power-hungry…. I though I may just be in the top right hand quadrant - slightly conservative, and not anarchic - but they placed me in the bottom left quadrant - left and anarchist…. Geez, that is not my self perception - except that it is probably right!!!
Looks a good site Emma - good on you!

thanks janet - i didn’t realise I was that much of an anarchist either:)
May 18th, 2007 at 1:08 pm
All the best with your venture Emma, don’t let the turkeys get you down.
I took the test also thinking, probably just a little left of centre but probably just in the red.
I am a lot more left than I thought! Perhaps Tibet should be my next holiday destination……
I am about as Zen as an angry wasp (hehe), the test was fun though.

I think the anarchist rev is having an effect on us all!

Can’t agree on the doctrine however
May 18th, 2007 at 5:06 pm
thanks…I think
May 18th, 2007 at 5:08 pm
I prefer not to think. it gives me a headache!!
May 18th, 2007 at 5:11 pm
so when you say… “I prefer not to think. it gives me a headache!!”
well, that explains why you disagree with Emma’s doctrine.
May 18th, 2007 at 5:12 pm
I think that test is a bit dodgy… it says I’m as far left as Stalin and more libertarian than Ghandi.
Well done Emma! I’m impressed!!!!
May 18th, 2007 at 5:13 pm
Does Emma have a “doctrine”? I thought she had political opinions.
May 18th, 2007 at 5:15 pm
I wonder if she has a creed?
May 18th, 2007 at 5:27 pm
hmmm maybe I should come up with one
May 18th, 2007 at 5:34 pm
