Missional tricks

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

So recently as a part of Tangent, the congregation that Phil and I are both members and leaders of at Northern, we have been talking about mission. Our young adults congregations seem to have an ebb and flow pattern. We increase in size and enthusiasm and then a whole bunch of people move […]

tangental luke 10

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Had a good time at Tangent on Tuesday night. Tangent is a congregation of Northern Community of largely young adults that meets 7.30m on Tuesday nights.

For some time we have become increasingly uncomfortable about our location in the pub. There was something about a private room - behind a closed door that didn’t sit well […]

I recently went to our thirst congregation on Sunday night. transformation

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

During 2006 2007 our theme at Northern Community is transformation. We are seeking to challenge ourselves to be transformed by Jesus and to participate in God’s transformation of the world. The church search

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

Laura complains about me as she reflects on her search for a new church in Canberra:
The church search:
.”…Anyway, the upshot is that I don’t see myself attending that particular service again, though if they do start something different, I’d be definitely interested. I’m not writing this to put down this particular church, in fact, […]

Anyone doing some emerging church work in Canberra?
I would love to know as we have someone from our church who has moved to Canberra (who knows why!) and is looking for a Church.

“The Sydney Morning Herald have an article […]

Not weird

Monday, September 25th, 2006

So the other day we kind of got in the middle of someone else’s domestic, the details of which aren’t important.  But talking about it later, we reflected that our experiences at Northern Community have changed us a bit.  We didn’t hesitate to get involved in an intense situation where once we might have.  And […]

roboguy

Our Jeebus congregation has a bunch of guys in it that have been developing a tv series - and the dvd will be launched this Wednesday. They use it as a way of connecting with their friends and having lots of fun along the way while indulging in their love of video editing.
They were written […]
